Talky, Talky, Talky, Talky Talk
Rylan talks and talks. She is not afraid to try new words. She said Gareth and her own name the other day. And then it was Wannabe, balloon, goat (she likes making all the animal sounds also). I’m shocked at how verbal she is. I’m assuming it’s the 2nd child and maybe the fact she is a girl. 
I wonder where she learned to talk so much!

State Fair 2009
A couple weeks ago we all went to the great State Fair of Texas. Brandy and I really only go for all the fried food goodness (can you say fried butter?). We all had a blast.
While this isn’t the first time Gareth has been to the fair, this is certainly the most fun he’s ever had! Checkout the pictures below to share in the fun. We have some great video clips too, but I can’t get them to work. Hopefully I can make that happen tomorrow.
(OK, I’ll admit that last one wasn’t from the fair, but how cool does he look?)
Accomplishments
Yeah, we’re just proud parents, we can’t help it. Checkout the picture below that Gareth’s teacher sent home a couple days ago. It just proves he’s WAY smart. Be sure you checkout how he can write his own name!
15 Month Checkup
She’s still just growing like a weed! And if you haven’t seen or heard her in awhile, she jabbers non-stop these days. She amazed us last night with a ‘2 word phrase.’ I came to get her out of the bathtub and she waved at Brandy and said, “Bye Momma.”
Last Friday she had her official 15 month checkup with Dr. Betty and here are her stats:
- Weight: 25lbs
- Height: 31in
You should see the other guy
Not really, but it would have made a better story. So Gareth, being Gareth, was running full force at school today and went head on into the fort. The story is the stair to the fort was still standing and Gareth had a busted nose to show for the run in.
Not to mention the splinter he had in his hand. It finally had to be taken out with a credit card and tweezer. It was a rough day for Gareth. But nothing rice krispee treats and a coke can’t take care of.
She got a taste of the good stuff
See that little smile. It’s because she tasted Chicken Express. She loves the okra (like any self respecting southern woman), the corn nuggets and she rounded it off with some chicken. She also loves to use the fork. She can’t quite get the food on the fork, but she knows how to hold the fork and put it in her mouth. Then she grunts until you load it up again! If she ask for sweet tea I know my work is done.
Apparently it starts early in life
Gareth was just sitting reading/playing with a book when he announced that he ‘had to go potty.’ As he headed to the bathroom, he mentioned that he was taking the book with him. So apparently that male trait is inherent and starts early in life!
